Fathers day gift-Ardbeg 10yo Scotch whisky & glasses

Fathers day is almost here and we've scoured the world of whisky for a recommendation for you.  How about giving your dear dad a superb bottle of ten year old Ardbeg scotch whisky, available here at a great price. And if you want to make the gift even more impressive, you can buy some really nice glass whisky glasses (we stress glass aspect because there aren't expensive crystal glasses but they still look and feel great).

This is our favorite:

This awesome whisky glass costs just under £3.50 plus delivery! Therefore you can get four of these and a fantastic bottle of single malt whisky for around £50 plus shipping.

There are many more brilliant drinks offers available for fathers day including a vast range of spirits, coctail ingredients, coctail shakers, glassware and much more.

Your dad with be thrilled with this, and even if he isn't a big whisky drinker himself, this is a fantastic present that he'll be proud to produce on special occasions. Every dad should have a bottle of top scotch tucked away somewhere (and some top whisky glasses to go with it). Make fathers day a special day.

Top Fathers day gift ideas 2009 part 3 Sony PSP

Finally, here's my third suggestion for a great father's day present. Dad's like things to play with, but some Dad's get out of the playing with things loop. Therefore you should get your Dad something to play with, but not something that he things might be a bit too childish or "lightweight". Now a Nintendo DSi might be considered to be a bit too "young" by your Dad (or others - though it isn't really), so perhaps a Sony PSP. It's a manly, sophisticated and brilliant system that contains all manner of wizardry to keep him entertained. This sort of thing:

You might want to pick up a Sony PSP UMD film or two (UMD is the PSP movie disc format), while you're at it so you can make it seem like a more Dad-like console as opposed to a "time waster" of a games machine.

Take a look at these:

There you have it. Three suggestions for brilliant gifts that (almost) any father would be genuinely thrilled to receive on Father's Day 2009. Now, I do appreciate that these are all moderately costly, so if you're a bit strapped for cash, just get him a couple of select DVDs from Play.com who are, in the main, the cheapest DVD retailers about and offer free shipping on all orders. DVDs start from £1.99 for genuinely good movies, so £4 and you're sorted.

Top fathers day gifts part 2 single malt whisky

OK, you've seen the Sat Navs, well here's another great idea for a brilliant fathers day gift for 2009.

Another great father's day gift for a Dad who drinks (because I'm taking alcohol, so it would be a bit pointless otherwise) is a good bottle of single malt scotch whisky. Not Bells, not Tesco own brand, a really nice, quality bottle of special single malt that a Dad can really be proud of and can wheel out to impress his friends on special occasions (like father's day!) Here's some of my favorites:

[awin query="single+malt" no="10" price="50_90"]

Remember, these are special occasion single malts and gift sets, not your regular  supermarket stocked malts. If your Dad likes a drink, or keeps a drinks cabinet, he'll be genuinely delighted with a carefully selected single malt whisky. Even if he doesn't drink it himself, he'll know someone who will be most impressed. Even better if you choose a bottle that isn't readily available in every corner shop.

Brilliant fathers day gift ideas 2009 part 1 sat navs

Fathers day is nearly upon us again and what to choose!  It always helps to get a bit of inspiration and fortunately there are a lot of great websites out there offering to take the strain out of choosing a great fathers day present. Most have fast and sometimes free shipping and should give you some inspiration beyond mugs, socks and ties for your pops.

Speaking as a father myself, I'd like to think that when my son get's old enough, he'll have a bit more imagination and here is where he can start to look.  Won't be for a while though. Anyway, I thought I'd have a think about what sort of gifts dads would really like this year if they could get anything they "needed" without wishing to be greedy. I always think that a father's day gift should be something that's going to be of use, instead of some last minute rubbish. If my son was old enough (give him 10 years!) and, obviously, wasn't in dire poverty then this is what I would like as a father for fathers day.

First up, if a Dad doesn't have a sat nav then he probably desperately wants one but is too proud to admit it. Us Dads like to think that we could navigate our way throught the Sahara desert using just three lines of directions but in reality, I reckon that a sat nav would make everybody's lives to much easier. Especially yours if you're ever in the passenger seat! Not only do Sat Navs now brilliant route planning and directions, but they also act as MP3 players and many of them connect effortlessly to your in car stereo system to provide superb MP3 playback on the go. Take a look at these babies:

If your Dad has a car, and doesn't have a sat nav, believe me, he WANTS a sat nav. Even if you have to help him with the techy side of it (not wishing to be condescending), he'll thank you for it!

Nintendo may be cranking up the production lines because they have some new accessories coming out for the  Wii Fit (a new version of the Wii Fit itself has not been announced so don't worry, these are not about to become obsolete!)

After months of gamers having to pay over the odds on auction sites due to low stock there are suddenly some great deals with Wii Fits and balance boards available for under £60. Top Fathers day gift ideas for 2009

Fathers day is getting close and many online retailers are pulling out all the stops to get your business, which is great for you because you

Buy your father a Gucci gift set

Buy your father a Gucci gift set

can buy a gift for your dad for less than ever before! We've been having a look at some of our favorite fathers day offers to see if we can help you to come up with something your dad will love.

After shave is always a winner with fathers, even those who like to imply that they don't really wear it. They love it! The top aftershaves are, of course, expensive, but there are some great offers around if you know where to look, which is where we come in. How about a Gucci By Gucci Homme Gift Set from Fragrancedirect which includes 50ml Eau de Toilette Spray, 50ml Aftershave Balm & 50ml Shower Gel and has £6 off. Ok it's not the cheapest gift out there but it's certainly classy.

Perfume Point have some really special offers on at the moment with up to 49% off designer aftershaves and specials on the likes of Bmen (Rubber Flask) Mens Edt 50ml Spray at 49% off, or how about Joop Homme Mens Edt 125ml Gift Set at 48% off. Both superb After shave deals that any dad would be thrilled to receive.

How about taking a look at Mankind. Mankind current have some wonderful male grooming gift ideas such as John Varvatos Classic Essentials Set for just £20.80 and Buy The Art of Shaving The 4 Elements of the Perfect Shave a complete luxury shaving kit for under £30 (let's face it, it's something that us unbearded men have to do every day so anything that makes it a more bearable experience is generally welcomed).

Now your dad can fix dents in his car!

Now your dad can fix dents in his car!

If your Dad is a gadget hound, Gizoo have some seriously good (and funny) gift ideas and are offering a free fathers day gift to all purchasers, apparently "a gift every father should have". We don't know what it is but it sounds intriguing! Amongst their current offers are some genuinely useful things such as The Ding King Dent Repair Kit.

This is a cheap (£15) but brilliant bit of kit for any father who cherishes a car or motorbike because it can save him money letting him fix his own minor car dents!

This next one is absolute genius. It's Dad's Cab and it's a functioning Taxi style meter so that if your poor dad is regularly made to ferry people around, you can make him feel better about it by giving him the impression that he can turn this into a lucrative part-time income (or you can agree forfeits in lieu of cash using cards that come with it, such as cleaning said car). It costs just £9.95 and was voted Gift of the year in 2008, we can see why!

Another thing Dad's tend to have is old vinyl records. Now, I must admit that I do have quite a few vinyl records myself but if you want to help your Dad to get his favorite tunes onto his Ipod or computer, then you could do a lot worse than getting him a ION Portable USB Turntable from Gizoo. It comes complete with software and is a straight out of the box solution for converting vinyl to digital formats.

Help your Dad convert his old records to MP3!

If your Dad likes the odd tipple, then a bottle of something nice will also go down well. Sparkling Direct have put together a really nice Fathers Day Golf Gift which consists of a deluxe indoor golf putting set plus a bottle of Famous Grouse Whisky. Really nice. If he's a bit of a wine expert, how about a Vinturi Wine Aerator from I Want One Of Those. This is supposed to speed up process of wine breathing to make the wine taste better sooner. If your Dad likes to tell you about how sweets were better back in the olden days when you could get 40 Blackjacks for a pound, then you can give him a great sweet nostalgia trip with a Retro Sweet Hamper which is packed with classic 70's sweets like drumsticks, Fruit salads, Blackjacks and more. That's also from Iwantoneofthose, and they gift wrap as well.

These are just a few of our favorite fathers day gift ideas for 2009. However, if you're still struggling for inspiration, then take a look at some of the stores listed on the right of the page, as there are plenty of gadget shops worth exploring (or maybe a DVD or CD will do the trick). We hope you father has a great day whatever gifts he receives!
